Cousin claims Gurkirat Manocha was dragged by vehicle

The family of 24-year-old international student Gurkirat Singh Manocha, who was killed in BC’s Fort St John on Friday, is seeking justice and financial support. Gurkirat’s cousin, Jasmeet Kaur while talking RED FM said Gurkirat was an innocent and he was not involved in the reported altercation; instead, he was standing a distance away when a driver of a vehicle intentionally runover him, dragging him after his jacket was stuck to the back of the car. Gurkirat, who moved to Canada in December 2024 and was nearly finished with his studies, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Jasmeet claimed the people involved were fellow students of Indian origin from his college. A GoFundMe page has since been established to help the family cover the significant costs of repatriating his body to India and to provide financial relief during this devastating time.
