Courageous Conversations: Mental Health and Addictions

A new report compiled by the City of Surrey and Statistics Canada says 21% of those who died from opioid overdose in Surrey ended up in hospital for substance-use related disorders at some point in the year before their deaths, 22% were there as a result of opioid poisoning, and 81% of those who died of an opioid overdose in Surrey were men. Government is funneling money into certain programs trying to counter this crisis and for prevention but things are looking grey. Hon.
