A residence in the Cloverdale neighborhood has been targeted by gunfire for the second time in just two weeks. According to the Surrey Police Service, investigators believe both incidents are linked to a series of ongoing extortion attempts that have been reported across the city.

The most recent shooting occurred early Sunday morning. Officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 187 Street and 54 Avenue at approximately 2:00 AM. Upon arrival, police discovered bullet holes in the home; however, authorities confirmed that no one inside the residence was injured during the attack.

This same property was previously targeted on December 31. Following that New Year’s Eve incident, investigators found damage to both the house and a vehicle parked outside. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene at that time, though, similar to the most recent event, no injuries were reported.

The Surrey Police Service continues to investigate the pattern of violence. They are asking anyone with information, dashcam footage, or security video from the area to contact them as they work to address the rising threat of extortion-related crimes in the community.
