The City of Vancouver will give certain employees the option to take early retirement or voluntarily leave their positions.
The initiative, called the Exempt Voluntary Separation Program, was introduced by City Manager Donny van Dyk.
It follows a virtual staff town hall held Thursday, where employees were invited to ask questions about the 2026 budget.
Earlier this month, Vancouver City Council directed staff to draft a 2026 budget identifying approximately $120 million in savings to support a property tax freeze.
