Statistics Canada reports that Canada’s real GDP grew by 0.2% in July, marking the first increase in four months. The growth was primarily driven by goods-producing industries, which saw a 0.6% rise during the month.
The manufacturing sector experienced a 0.7% increase, while the retail trade sector dropped by one per cent.
StatCan’s preliminary estimate for August suggests that the real GDP remained virtually unchanged.
