Burnaby RCMP is asking the public to help identify a suspect involved in an alleged road rage assault last August that left two people injured.
On August 19, 2025, officers responded to a report of an assault on Dover Street near Royal Oak Avenue. Dashcam footage from the victim’s vehicle captured the incident, which shows the suspect punching the driver’s side window, shattering it, and then returning to grab a cell phone from the dashboard, throwing it at the passenger. Both the driver and passenger were injured.
Investigators have identified the passenger of the suspect vehicle as the registered owner, who has refused to name the suspect despite repeated requests.
Cpl. Mike Kalanj of Burnaby RCMP described the footage as “hard to watch” and called the violence “simply inexcusable.” He urged anyone who can identify the suspect to come forward.
Those with information are asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 (file number 2025-29201) or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
