The Burnaby RCMP has launched a province-wide billboard campaign to aid in the search for 11-year-old Kai Pavlovic.
The initiative, in partnership with MissingKids.ca, began Friday, October 17, 2025. Billboards featuring Kai’s photo and a request for information about his whereabouts will be displayed throughout the Lower Mainland and other locations across British Columbia. Anyone with information is urged to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
“We want everyone to be on the lookout for Kai,” said Corporal Laura Hirst, Media Relations Officer for Burnaby RCMP. “Our investigators are working around the clock, and we’re asking the public for help. The billboards are just one of several tools we’re using to raise awareness and advance our investigation.”
Police were first notified about Kai on September 26, 2025, following a well-being check request. Investigators have since spoken with Kai’s family and believe he may be with a caretaker, who police are actively trying to identify.
“We’re making a direct appeal to that caretaker, or anyone who may know them,” Cpl. Hirst added. “If you have Kai in your care, please come forward and contact Burnaby RCMP. We need to ensure he is safe and well.”
To reach a broader audience, Burnaby RCMP has also released a Serbian-language version of their statement online and shared it within the community.
“Through our investigation, we’ve learned that Kai’s family has strong ties within the Serbian community,” Cpl. Hirst said. “We want to make sure our message reaches as many people as possible.”
Kai is described as approximately 5 feet tall, with a slim build and brown hair. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or their local police department.
