Police closed off Burnaby Mountain Parkway near Simon Fraser University Thursday morning after a serious car crash.
Mounties were called to the area just west of Centennial Way around 4 a.m. after receiving a report of a single-vehicle collision.
Images from the scene show a flipped-over car and scattered debris on the road.
There’s no word yet on injuries, but police have promised an update later today.
In the meantime, Burnaby Mountain Parkway is closed between Gagliardi Way and Duthie Avenue and is expected to remain so for several hours.
The Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating the incident, and the cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
