A Brampton man is facing criminal charges after allegedly targeting female newcomers to Canada who were seeking employment, according to Halton Regional Police.

Police say the investigation involved two separate incidents that occurred in March and December 2025 in Milton and Halton Hills. In both cases, investigators allege the accused posted “help wanted” advertisements on Kijiji for entry-level data entry positions.

According to police, after arranging job interviews, the women were picked up by the accused and driven to isolated industrial parking lots. In one incident, a victim was sexually assaulted. In another, a victim was allegedly offered employment opportunities in exchange for a sexual relationship.

Officers identified the suspect through their investigation and arrested 47-year-old Tejinder Dhaliwal in Brampton on Monday. He has been charged with sexual assault and obtaining sexual services for consideration.

Police say Dhaliwal was held for a bail hearing on Jan. 27 and was released the same day.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information, or anyone who believes they were victimized, to contact Halton police’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777, ext. 8970, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
