The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers in B.C. and across Canada to watch out for flight rebooking scams as travellers try to deal with disruptions caused by the Air Canada strike.

According to the bureau, common scams include fake airline websites that trick people into paying inflated fees or upgrades, the sale of tickets for flights that don’t exist, and phony cancellation alerts that lure consumers into clicking and paying bogus rebooking fees.

Although the Air Canada flight attendants’ strike ended earlier this week, cancellations from the work stoppage are still causing travel disruptions.
