Two men have been charged in connection with a bank robbery that took place last month in Abbotsford.

On Feb. 6, 2026, at about 5:23 p.m., Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery at a bank in the 2100 block of Sumas Way. Police say a man entered the bank, demanded money and fled with cash in a waiting truck. No one was injured.

The Abbotsford Police Department’s Major Crime Unit took over the investigation and gathered evidence over several weeks, which led investigators across the Lower Mainland and helped identify two suspects.

On March 10, 2026, detectives arrested two men in connection with the robbery and carried out a search warrant at a home in the 44000 block of Malcolm Road in Lake Errock.

Robbery charges have been approved against 54-year-old Gordon Slater and 57-year-old Brian Knutson. Slater also faces an additional charge of disguise with intent.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit at 604-859-5225 and reference file number 2026-568.
