An Interview: Daughters of The Vote

Equal Voice invited young women, ages 18 to 23, from across the country to apply to be one of 338 dynamic and diverse delegates in a once-in-a-lifetime political leadership program. One delegate from every federal riding in Canada are chosen to represent their community and vision for Canada. All delegates attend a national event in Ottawa and take their respective MP’s seat in Parliament during a historic sitting of the House of Commons in April 2019. Two young Punjabi women Jasleen Bains from Surrey Newton, and Avneet Sandhu from Fleetwood-Port Kells were part of this delegation. Harjidner Thind talks with them about their experiences and about what happened during the session.
