Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in a fatal road accident in Abbotsford, according to police.

Authorities reported that a motorcyclist died in a crash early Thursday morning on Highway 11 near Townshipline Road in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department stated that at approximately 1:34 a.m., officers responded to a collision involving a motorcycle rider and a Jeep Compass.

“Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a heavily damaged Kawasaki motorcycle,” said Sergeant Paul Walker.
