Red FM is holding their annual food drive Sunday December 9th from 11-5pm at the RED FM Studios #201 8383a 128th street, Surrey

The Surrey Food Bank prides themselves in supplying nutritious food in a respectful and dignified environment. In addition, they believe it is their responsibility to connect their clients to other community services as a means of helping them become self-sufficient.

As a non-profit, charitable organization, the Surrey Food Bank operates because of donations of money and food. They receive no core government funding.

14,000 people visit the Surrey Food Bank every month and 45% of the clients that visit the Surrey Food Bank are children and babies

The Surrey Food Bank is a nonprofit organization and receives no government funding and relies solely on community donations and support


The Healthy Plate – Surrey Food Banks top eight most needed food items

  • Canned protein (Fish & meat)
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned vegetables
  • Meals in a Tin (e.g. Pork n’ Beans or Stew)
  • Whole grain rice
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Healthy canned soups
  • Baby formula (large cans)

Tiny Bundles – Most needed items

  • Formula
    Powdered formula! Large cans preferred so families receive a one-week supply
  • Diapers
    Larger sizes are in short supply. Size 4 to 6 are preferred.
  • Cereal
    We often need food for babies older than six months.
  • Baby Jar Food
    Fruit, Meals and Vegetables (both large and small jars).

Helpful donations (for newborns − 12 months )

  • Baby blankets – receiving or warmer blanket.
  • Sleepers
  • Socks
  • Washcloths
  • Baby toiletry items e.g., lotion, shampoo, Vaseline, baby oil or powder
  • Bibs
  • Baby bottles (large or small)

  • Winter wear, e.g., sweaters, booties, mitts, hats
