The man charged in connection with the April 2024 stabbing death of 26-year-old Kulwinder Singh Sohi in White Rock is set to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Monday (Jan. 12). Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth was charged with second-degree murder in May 2024, after Sohi was stabbed on the White Rock promenade a week earlier. The incident was the second of two stabbings in the city that week. Hyacinth is also facing aggravated assault charges in connection with a stabbing attack on Jatinder Singh, 28, that occurred on April 21, 2024. Singh, who had only been in Canada for a few months, survived the attack, with a serious neck wound that was treated in hospital. Hyacinth’s appearance Monday is scheduled to fix a date.
