Shots fired at business in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighborhood

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) have launched an investigation into a shooting that targeted a local business in the Cloverdale neighborhood early Monday morning. Authorities report that the incident occurred at approximately 3:35 a.m. in the 5400 block of Production Boulevard.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a commercial building that had sustained damage from gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the discharge of a firearm. The investigation has since been taken over by the RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU), which remains in the preliminary stages of gathering evidence and identifying potential suspects.

While the motive for the attack is currently under investigation, police have not yet confirmed whether the incident is linked to ongoing extortion attempts in the region. Investigators are continuing to process the scene and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
