A suspicious package has caused delays at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
According to CTV News report, a spokesperson for the airport said flight traffic has been reduced after a “package of interest” was discovered on a plane that landed in Montreal. Montreal police stated that they responded to the airport to support the Quebec provincial police, who are leading the investigation.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported a “ground stop” for flights from certain American airports bound for YUL. The ground stop, which was put in place at 3:02 p.m., was lifted just before 5 p.m.

While the FAA cited a bomb threat as the reason for the ground stop, a spokesperson for the Quebec provincial police clarified that no bomb threat has been confirmed.
