Ridge Meadows RCMP say a man injured in a serious pedestrian crash on March 9, 2026, has died.

The 91-year-old was riding a mobility scooter at the time of the collision and later succumbed to his injuries. Police say the investigation is ongoing as officers continue to follow all necessary investigative steps.

The fatality marks the second pedestrian death in Maple Ridge this year. RCMP are also investigating another pedestrian collision that occurred in the city on March 10, though no additional details have been released.

Police are reminding drivers and pedestrians to exercise extra caution on the roads, especially given the recent incidents and poor weather, noting that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
