Langley RCMP are investigating a robbery linked to an online marketplace sale.

Police say that on March 9, 2026, at about 6:28 p.m., a victim reported she had been robbed while trying to sell a designer handbag listed on Facebook Marketplace.

The victim had arranged to meet the potential buyer at a residential building in the 20000 block of 85 Avenue around 6:20 p.m. The suspect initially examined the bag inside the building before persuading the victim to take it outside so he could show it to a family member.

Once outside, the suspect allegedly grabbed the handbag, pushed the victim to the ground and ran to a waiting vehicle parked on 86 Avenue before leaving the area.

Investigators have obtained CCTV footage of the suspect and are releasing an image in hopes someone can help identify him.

Police are reminding residents to take precautions when completing online marketplace transactions, including meeting in well-lit public locations, avoiding letting strangers into their homes, bringing someone along for high-value sales, and considering meeting at police detachments or other monitored locations.
