The City of Surrey has announced it will host the “Surrey Soccer Fan Zones” from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This initiative will provide residents and visitors with the opportunity to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 26 matches together for free in public spaces across the city.

Mayor Brenda Locke expressed her pride in offering these safe and welcoming venues. “We are proud to present the Surrey Soccer Fan Zones, where families can gather to enjoy the FIFA World Cup 26 at no cost,” said Mayor Locke. She emphasized that by providing accessible events, the city is helping families cheer on their favorite teams and create lasting summer memories without financial barriers.

Three primary locations have been designated as Fan Zones to bring the World Cup celebration to Surrey: Surrey Civic Plaza, the Cloverdale Agriplex, and South Surrey Athletic Park. Officials noted that additional locations may be announced as the tournament approaches. While the Cloverdale Agriplex will offer an indoor experience, the Civic Plaza and South Surrey Athletic Park will feature outdoor events equipped with large tents to provide shaded seating areas for attendees.

Each Fan Zone will feature live match broadcasts on giant screens, accompanied by live entertainment, community-led soccer activities, food trucks, and beer gardens. These amenities are designed to foster a secure and festive environment for the community throughout the month-long tournament.

The official kickoff for the Surrey Soccer Fan Zones will take place on June 12 at Surrey Civic Plaza, coinciding with the debut match of the Canada Men’s National Soccer Team. Fans are encouraged to come together to support the national team and enjoy special entertainment and activities planned for the opening celebrations.

Beyond the sport, these Fan Zones are intended to celebrate Surrey’s cultural diversity and strengthen community ties. By hosting these events in key town centers—City Centre, Cloverdale, and South Surrey—the city aims to support local businesses and highlight Surrey as a premier destination for entertainment and tourism.

With only 100 days remaining until the FIFA World Cup begins, excitement is building for the first-ever 48-team tournament, co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Matches will be held across 16 host cities, including Vancouver and Toronto. The Surrey Soccer Fan Zones aim to bring that global energy to the local level, providing shared spaces for residents and tourists to celebrate the world’s game.
