The BC RCMP has officially released the names and ages of the victims from the February 10, 2026, Tumbler Ridge shooting, as the community continues to mourn. Authorities are sharing photos and personal statements in consultation with families to honour those who died and support the healing process.
Victims from Tumbler Ridge Secondary School include: Abel Mwansa, 12; Ezekiel Schofield, 13; Kylie Smith, 12; Zoey Benoit, 12; Ticaria Lampert, 12; and Shannda Aviugana-Durand, 39. Victims from a residence on Fellers Avenue are Emmett Jacobs, 11, and Jennifer Jacobs, 39.
Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald expressed condolences to the families and the wider community, emphasizing the importance of privacy and respect as loved ones grieve. The RCMP said it will continue supporting families and the community during the long recovery from this tragedy.
