A 42-year-old man is facing multiple Criminal Code charges following a multijurisdictional investigation into the theft of semi-trailers valued at more than $1 million.

Surrey Police Service’s Prolific Offender Unit launched the investigation in December 2024 after receiving a report that 14 semi-trailers had been stolen from a Surrey dealership. The probe expanded to Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Calgary, where additional stolen trailers were reported.

Investigators identified a suspect and executed several search warrants at properties in Surrey and Chilliwack, seizing a number of semi-trailers, tools and vehicles.

On Jan. 28, 2026, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges against Amandeep Singh Dhaliwal, including nine counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, five counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and six counts related to altering or removing vehicle identification numbers.

Dhaliwal was arrested on Feb. 11 and later released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Feb. 18. Surrey police thanked the Calgary Police Service’s General Investigations Unit for assisting with the case.
