The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is continuing its search for Masood Masjoody in close coordination with the Burnaby RCMP and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS).
Investigators have released a photo of Mr. Masjoody to help advance the investigation.
“Mr. Masjoody is known for his online presence and as a mathematician who previously worked in academia,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “A person’s background, lifestyle, and affiliations are always considered as part of an IHIT investigation and will help in identifying a motive.”
Sgt. Fong added, “We understand the impact Mr. Masjoody’s disappearance has had on his family, friends, and the broader community. As the search continues, investigators will provide updates to the family as they become available.”
