Surrey police ask public to help identify sexual assault suspect

Surrey Police Service (SPS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a reported sexual assault. 

Police say that on January 16, 2026, around 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a report from a female victim who said she was sexually assaulted while walking in the 10700 block of 146 Street in Surrey. The suspect allegedly approached her from behind before the assault. The victim was able to escape and reach safety. 

The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 30 years old, about 5’3” tall. He was wearing a distinctive white puffer jacket with black shoulders and sleeves, a black fur-trimmed hood, red shorts, and white Nike running shoes with black soles. He was last seen walking along 146 Street.
