Abbotsford resident 26 year old Sondeep Singh Gill has been charged with second degree murder and indignity to human remains in relation to the murder of 30 year old female victim. Her identity is not being released.
At approximately 11:42 am on January 15, 2026, Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) patrol officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a hotel in the 32100 block of Marshall Road.
Officers secured the scene and determined the incident was contained within a single hotel room. Evidence gathered at the scene confirmed the incident to be a homicide. One man was arrested and remained in police custody as the investigation continued. AbbyPD confirmed the incident was isolated and not believed to be connected to ongoing extortion investigations.
“On January 16, 2026, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges against Gill,” said Corporal Sukhi Dhesi, Media Relations Officer for Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. “Details regarding the relationship between the victim and Mr. Gill remain part of the ongoing investigation,” she added.
