RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) is investigating an early morning shooting at a residence in Cloverdale area of Surrey. Around 4:25 am today police responded to reports of shots fired at a home in the area of 187 Street and 54 Avenue. According to SPS, home and parked vehicle were damaged in the shooting and several bullet casings were located in front of the home. No occupants of the residence were injured.
SPS’s media relations office Sgt Lindsay Houghton said, “While this is believed to be related to an extortion, whether or not there is a nexus to other ongoing investigations is being assessed and SPOSU GIU (General Investigation Unit) investigators are working closely with partner agencies to advance this investigation”.
