Burnaby RCMP’s Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) has seized more than 97 kilograms (215 pounds) of illegal drugs and $70,000 in cash following a six-month drug trafficking investigation.

On December 17, 2025, BGET executed a search warrant at a suspect’s residence in New Westminster. A 29-year-old man was taken into custody and now faces multiple potential charges.

Officers recovered:

15 kg of cocaine

41 kg of methamphetamine

30 grams of fentanyl

41 kg of cannabis concentrate (“shatter”), both bulk and pre-packaged

Over $70,000 in Canadian currency

Drug production materials and money counters

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of nearly $4 million.

“The production and trafficking of drugs is far from a victimless crime. We see its devastating effects daily. The number of lives potentially saved by this seizure is immeasurable, and the amount of illicit drugs removed from the streets is staggering,” said Inspector Matt Toews, Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Services Officer. “I am extremely proud of our Gang Enforcement Team, but there is still significant work to complete before this investigation moves to the charge approval stage.”
