A three-month jury trial has been scheduled for four men accused in the June 2024 shooting death of Yuvraj Goyal in South Surrey. The B.C. Prosecution Service says the trial for Surrey residents Manvir Basram, Sahib Basra and Harkirat Jhutty, along with Ontario’s Keilon Francois, is set to begin Sept. 14, 2026, in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.

The four were charged with first-degree murder on June 8, 2024, one day after the 28-year-old was found dead in the 900-block of 164 Street. Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 9 a.m. on June 7, and a burning vehicle was discovered soon afterward in the 18500-block of McMillan Road in the Hazelmere area.

A coordinated effort by Surrey RCMP, Air 1 and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team led to the rapid identification and arrest of suspects. Investigators noted that Goyal had no prior police history.

The case was transferred to Supreme Court after proceedings wrapped up in Surrey Provincial Court on Nov. 27, 2024. According to prosecutors, three of the accused remain in custody, while Basram has been released on bail.
