Nearly 3,000 STIHL backpack blowers have been recalled in Canada because a defect in the fan wheel could cause it to break during use, creating a risk of cuts. Health Canada says 2,750 affected units were sold between June and November 2025.
The recall applies to two U.S.-made models — the BR 800 C-E Z Magnum and BR 800 X-Z Magnum — within specific serial number ranges. Customers are urged to stop using the blowers and take them to a STIHL dealer to see if the fan wheel needs to be replaced. Units that have already been inspected will have a black dot near the serial number.
Recalled products cannot be resold under federal law. No injuries in Canada have been reported, although about 50,000 of the same blowers were recalled earlier in the U.S. Health Canada encourages users to report any safety incidents and offers STIHL customer service contact information for more details.
