The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says several varieties of Pillsbury Pizza Pops are being recalled over possible microbial contamination.
The recall affects pepperoni and bacon Pizza Pops sold in 760-gram and 2.85-kilogram packages with best-before dates of June 9 and 10, 2026. It also includes Pizza Pops Supremo Extreme pepperoni and bacon in three-kilogram boxes with best-before dates from June 10 to 12, as well as Pizza Pops Frank’s RedHot Pepperoni and Bacon sold in 380-gram packages with a best-before date of June 14.
According to the CFIA, the products may be contaminated with E. coli O26. The agency warns that affected food may not show visible signs of spoilage or have an unusual smell, but can still cause illness.
General Mills says the recall is voluntary and that no other Pillsbury Pizza Pops products are impacted.
Reported illnesses have occurred in several provinces: British Columbia (3), Alberta (9), Saskatchewan (5), Ontario (2), and New Brunswick (1). Four people have been hospitalized, no deaths have been reported, about half of the cases involve females, and those affected range in age from 1 to 87.
