A 25-year-old man, identified as Iqbal Bhagria, has been charged with multiple offenses in connection with two alleged ransom-related shooting incidents that occurred in the Peel Region in October.
Peel Regional Police allege that shortly before 3:00 AM on October 26, two suspects approached a home near Old School Road and Creditview Road. According to surveillance video, one of the suspects allegedly started a fire in the driveway. Both suspects then reportedly fired multiple rounds at the house before fleeing the scene.
Investigators say that a short time later, the same suspects arrived at a business near Advance Boulevard and Dixie Road and fired several rounds. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in either incident.
Investigators stated that Iqbal Bhagria was taken into custody on November 7 and faces two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm with intent, as well as charges for arson, unlawful possession of a weapon, and creating forged documents.
