Authorities say an incident where multiple shots were fired into a home in Delta early Sunday morning has been linked to an ongoing extortion investigation.
The Delta Police Department said in a statement that officers were called to a residence in the 11200 block of 78B Avenue at 2:24 a.m.
“Officers arrived on scene and located shell casings and confirmed several shots into the residence,” the department’s statement read.
They added that “The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured. CCTV footage shows a suspect getting out of a white SUV and firing multiple shots into the residence before fleeing the scene.”
Police confirmed that the investigation has revealed the incident is connected to extortion, though they did not specify how the motive was determined. The department continues to investigate the matter.
