Days after the Angus Reid Institute reported that B.C. Premier David Eby’s approval rating hit an all-time low of 41 percent, the polling firm has more bad news for the BC NDP.

A new survey finds that most residents believe the government is performing poorly on the province’s most important issues, including healthcare, housing affordability, and public safety.

The biggest problem, according to respondents, is the cost of living. A staggering 74 percent of people say the NDP has done a bad job on this issue.

While the BC Conservative Party has edged ahead of the NDP in voting intention, the leader of the BC Conservative Party isn’t faring any better in the eyes of voters.

“The numbers are even wider for John Rustad,” said Shachi Kurl, president of Angus Reid.

“Twice as many British Columbians have an unfavorable view of Rustad (56 percent) than have a favorable view (28 percent).” She added that many respondents still don’t know who Rustad is.

The survey found that more than half of B.C. voters think the province is on the wrong track overall.

The report noted, “While this is hardly unique, as Albertans, Ontarians, and Quebec residents are as likely or more likely to say this of their province, it is not a ringing endorsement of provincial governance.”
