Air Canada flight attendants, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), are set to stage a coordinated demonstration across Canada on Monday, August 11.

The union announced in a press release on Friday that airports in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary will be impacted by this action.

“Flight attendants are urging Air Canada to address key issues in the negotiations, including unpaid working hours and wages that fall below acceptable standards for 2025,” the union stated.

CUPE’s Air Canada component confirmed that both parties planned to resume negotiations on Friday, following a strong 99.7% vote in favour of a strike mandate by its members.

This vote, concluded on Tuesday, gives flight attendants the legal ability to go on strike as early as 12:01 a.m. on August 16, provided a minimum of 72 hours’ notice is given.
