For the second time in less than a month, shots fired at Surrey café owned by Indian entertainment star Kapil Sharma on Thursday morning.

The windows of Kap’s Café, named for its owner and prominent Indian comedian, have at least six bullet holes.

According to a statement from the Surrey Police Service (SPS), officers are investigating a shots fired incident at a Newton-area business that occurred early this morning. This marks the second incident at this location in the past month.

Officials say that at approximately 4:40 a.m. on August 7, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a business in the 8400 block of 120 Street. They added that multiple SPS police teams and Delta Police Department units responded, and although numerous shots damaged the windows and the building, the staff on the premises were fortunately unharmed.

The Surrey Police Service Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) Team has taken control of the investigation.

In early July, shots were fired at the cafe just days after it opened for business, but no arrests have been made in the case so far. The motive behind the incident is also still unclear.
