Vancouver Police are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred last week in East Vancouver and are urging the driver, or any witnesses, to contact investigators.
Authorities stated that on July 11 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a 70-year-old victim was crossing Grandview Highway at Slocan Street when she was struck by the driver of a grey SUV. The SUV driver did not stop at the scene but continued driving eastbound on Grandview Highway.
“We believe there were several bystanders who attempted to chase after the vehicle,” said Constable Tania Visintin. “Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision. We also want to speak to the driver of the grey SUV to determine what circumstances led up to the incident.”
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
