Elderly pedestrian seriously injured in Richmond collision

RICHMOND, B.C. – An 87-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being struck by an SUV in Richmond on Saturday afternoon. The Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team is now investigating the incident.

Police report that on July 5, 2025, at 3:46 p.m., they received a call about a pedestrian-involved collision at No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue. An SUV reportedly hit a pedestrian before swerving and colliding with a lamp post on the median just north of the intersection.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV suffered minor physical injuries related to the crash.

Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
