23-year-old motorcyclist caught driving at 193kmh in 60-zone in Downtown Parksville

Parksville, BC – A 23-year-old motorcyclist is facing charges after allegedly performing dangerous stunts and speeding through the busy downtown core of Parksville on the evening of June 11, 2025.

BC Highway Patrol said that at around 9:30 p.m., the rider reportedly executed multiple dangerous maneuvers on a street filled with parks, restaurants, and pedestrian crosswalks. Police allege the motorcyclist was driving over 130 km/h while performing a wheelie in a 50 km/h zone. The vehicle then reportedly accelerated to a top speed of 193 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, exceeding the speed limit by more than three times on the bustling downtown streets.

Fortunately, BC Highway Patrol officers were in the area and successfully stopped and apprehended the driver, bringing an end to his alleged reckless behavior. The rider’s motorcycle was impounded and towed by police for a minimum of seven days. The young man has also been issued a court date to face criminal allegations of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under Section 320.13 of the Criminal Code. He will have the opportunity to present his case to a Provincial Court Judge.
