Surrey, British Columbia – Shots were fired at a trucking company owned by a businessman associated with the Nijjar family in the early hours of June 19, 2025, in Surrey, British Columbia. The incident occurred around 3:00 am at Nijjar Trucking, located in the 12800 block of 116 Avenue. Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded swiftly to reports of gunfire and discovered multiple bullet casings at the scene, along with damage to vehicles and buildings; no injuries were reported, although staff were present at the time. This marked the second attack at the same location within 24 hours, as suspects had attempted to set vehicles on fire using gasoline on June 18 at approximately 3:50 AM, but were scared off by on-site security.

Business owner Raghbir Singh Nijjar, who is a cousin of late Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, alleged that the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang is behind the attack as part of an extortion threat, and revealed that his home was similarly targeted in a shooting in August last year.

He expressed deep concern over the rising trend of criminal groups using innocent international students to carry out such violent acts, urging youth to think about their future and avoid being manipulated into activities that not only defame the community but also destroy lives.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, with whom Raghbir shares family ties, was a prominent Sikh leader and the head of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, who was shot dead outside the gurdwara in June 2023 in what Canadian authorities later described as a politically motivated assassination. The Surrey Police investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have appealed to the public for information that could assist in identifying those responsible.
