A 43-year-old man, Jaswinder Deol, has been charged 16 months after a fatal crash in Abbotsford, B.C., that occurred on February 3, 2024. Deol was arrested and charged on June 8 with impaired driving causing death, impaired operation of a vehicle causing death, and dangerous driving causing death. The crash involved a red minivan and a white pickup truck, resulting in the death of 84-year-old Phil Anderson at the scene. Deol, the surviving driver, was detained at the time. After a lengthy investigation by multiple agencies, Deol’s first court appearance is set for June 23. He is currently not in custody.
