Premier David Eby makes first public appearance after winning election

BC Premier David Eby says he’ll work with other members of the legislature, no matter their party, to complete his promises made during the provincial election.

David Eby comes away with 47 seats, a slim majority ahead of the B-C Conservatives’ 44 seats, but he says they need to find a path forward together on issues including public safety, severe addictions on the streets, health care and affordability.

Still a judicial recount will be held in two ridings to confirm the outcome of the election, and after that, Eby says they will swear in a cabinet.

BC NDP leader says the election victory is a chance for the NDP government to do better, and he’s grateful for the opportunity.
